Living an Intentional Life - How much is enough?

Hey ya'll!  I'm Allison and I have a little blog called Sweatpants & High Heels.  To be completely honest, I'm pretty sure that Kelly needs to write an e-book on how she blogs along with raising 4 kids under the age of 4.  But to be honest, the thing I love most about Kelly is that her blog is filled with scripture and posts that I can truly relate to when it comes to this season of motherhood.  I'm new to the mommy gig; I have a 10 month old baby girl and another one due in March.

Kelly and I have something in common as of lately; we both moved into new homes and are currently wrapped up in unpacking an entire household.  Although I think she deserves an award because I only have one little mover; again, she has 4.  I really wish we lived in the same town because a talk over coffee would be in order to find out her secrets of raising so many little ones and still having time to do other things...like pumping out amazing, inspiring posts on a regular basis...just saying!

This moving/unpacking process has really opened my eyes to just how much stuff we have.  My husband has roughly 300 t-shirts...half of which are probably from high school...and he graduated 12 years ago.  Needless, to say we downsized his t-shirt stash...and now maybe laundry won't take quite as long!  I designated an entire room in our new home to garage sale/donations until we finally get rid of all of the clutter.  I would be lying to you if I let you think I'm that organized...to put it kindly, I'm a work in progress on the organization train.  We really didn't have any choice but to designate a room to all of this packed up clutter when we moved into our home a couple of weeks ago.  I mean, why did we have 7 spatulas?  I seriously cook once a week...and it rarely involves a spatula.  Does my little girl really need 40 stuffed animals when she would rather play with a remote control?

Living an intentional life moved to the top of my bucket list when I became a mom.  For me, that means decreasing my work load, down-sizing our wardrobes, and minimizing the amount of stuff we keep in our home.  My prayer is that my children look back on their childhood and remember lots of singing, dancing in the living room, and lots of smiles.  My prayer is that my husband and I remember the same things and don't regret spending so much time tending to "things" of this world that don't matter in the end anyways.

I hope you'll stop by and say hey!  I love meeting new people and would love to stop by your blog as well!  One can never have too many friends...but that's a different post for a different day!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  -Colossians 3:2 (NIV)
