You know those perfectly posed photo Christmas cards we all look
forward to sending out to all our family and friends...every family member is
in perfectly pressed coordinated outfits…the little ones are sitting up
straight smiling sweetly at the camera…mama & daddy are content and
relaxed.
They are SO a figment of the imagination…or at least I HOPE they
are.
The story of our photo is this:
Me running around Thanksgiving morning finding articles of clothing that
had a bit of green in them. Loading the
car with kids and food for Thanksgiving dinner at Meme & Pop Pops
house. Getting the kids a snack and then
hurriedly getting the kids posed for the Christmas card photo before they broke
down because it was really nap time.
Getting outside and realizing not everyone had green in their clothing
and worrying for about 2 seconds that perhaps I am color blind. Meme snapped away for about 5 minutes as
twins are deciding they don’t care one bit about said Christmas card
photo. We decide to take whatever we got
and scoop up the winey and tired kiddos only to discover Elijah pooped through
his jeans onto daddy. Elijah gets
changed and 3 littlest are put down for a nap while daddy begrudgingly wears a
pair of Pop Pop’s jeans while his and Elijah’s are in the wash.
And in case you are wondering…the whole point of getting the
Christmas card shot on Thanksgiving is being able to use the $5 off coupon for
the Christmas card package at Costco before it expires.
Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving and are getting excited for the Christmas season approaching us!
Love it! I have been there many times!

ReplyDeleteSounds about right my friend. Sounds like my family.. times two. I wish you had pictures of your hubby wearing pop pops jeans. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe one benefit of moving in December is that I have a real great excuse for not sending Christmas cards this year, LOL! But, we've been there! I'm pretty happy as long as the adults look good b/c everyone is so forgiving of how the kids look, right?
ReplyDeleteOh but you all look so darn cute. I love the twins in this. Cracking me right up. And you look beautiful. Way to go getting that coupon girl! GO girl power!
ReplyDeletetoo funny. We need to do a family pic of our own... my kids will be goofy and I'll ultimately choose a photo where we're all making faces. ;)
