Grandma’s Miracle Whip Cake

This is one of my favorite cakes from childhood.  It’s my Grandma DuLaney’s recipe (my dad’s mom).

Ingredients:

½ tsp salt (I use Kosher but use what ya got)
1 C sugar
1 C HOT water
3 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
--
Mix the above together and let cool.

--
THEN…add:

2 C flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 C Miracle Whip

Mix until just blended, pour into a greased cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Let it cool enough that you can get it out of the pan successfully and then EAT IT!
Hey!  Don't judge!  The pan was hot and I burnt my fingers trying to flip this thing!

It’s BEST WARM (or warmed up in the microwave later).

I've had it plain, with powdered sugar or hot caramel sauce and it’s ALL tasty!
YUM!
