A complete rookie…my SAHM journey – PART 3

If you missed the 1st 2 installments click here and here

…I then found out I was pregnant again.  It was a complete surprise!  Total God thing?  Ya think?????

-----

You might THINK I “GOT” this right away.  Like a big 'ole smack on the head!!

“Kelly, you are WHERE you are CALLED TO BE!!!”

Not a chance!!!

I then kicked the job search into high gear, getting in touch with old co-workers and contacts I had.  I updated my LinkedIn profile.  You name it…I did it.

I knew that since I was preggers again I would have to move fast if I would get a job quickly enough to get used to it before I went on maternity leave.

I researched nanny options, talked to friends with nannys, got their recommendations, etc.

I had all my ducks in a row.

I did NOT get a job.

My old organization was not winning any new work so I could not go back there.  I heard from a couple other places that turned out to be dead ends for one reason or another.

I did NOT understand and I was frustrated!!!

I started to question if I was supposed to go back to work but my foolish pride would honestly not let it go.  This is what I said I was going to do.  I am going to do it…

But, slowly God broke me down.  He did it in a way so that I didn’t even realize it was happening.

The final straw was this:

One evening over Chinese food my husband and I were discussing me staying home vs going back to work.

I can’t remember the conversation much except that there was one AND that at the end of dinner I said something to the affect of “I just want to do something where I feel like I’m using my brain.”

As I was saying this Justin opened up the fortune cookies and handed me one.

I KID YOU NOT MINE SAID:

“A handful of patience is worth
more than a bushel of brains.”

We just looked at each other dumbfounded and burst out laughing.

Ok...God I got it!!!

So that lands me in this place…

…SAHM to 4 little crazy lovely people.

Getting by each and every day solely by God’s grace.
