Blog Positivity – Meeting people you feel like you SHOULD already know

So some of you guys know The Momma Bird right?  Of course you do!

She is cute and funny (check out her HYSTERICAL vlog here)!!

Strangely enough her parents actually live in the town I lived in in Ohio PRIOR to moving to VA…but one of the ways I actually sorta “know” her is from people FROM VA…she went to HS in VA and college in INDIANA with my sister in law!  BUT, she now lives in England with her military husband.  Got all that????

I tell ya it’s a SMALL WORLD folks!

6 DEGREES OF SEPARATION IS FO' REAL!

We started chatting via email recently and I just feel like she should be my REAL LIFE friend ya know?

Michelle is as REAL as it gets on her blog and I appreciate that!

Everyday life in our homes IS NOT all perfectly coiffed (yep THAT’s a $10 word!  Go me!) children and perfectly balanced supper on the table when hubby walks in the door at 6!  AND I SO APPRECIATE that she is real like that!  That is not her life and she seems perfectly ok with that.  WHO actually has that life?  I’d love to know!  Although maybe I wouldn’t...b/c then maybe I’d feel bad that someone actually has it...so it is attainable (but hopefully no one does so it isn’t!  ha!!)

Michelle, your posts are refreshing and make me happy!  I hope one day we can meet for coffee IN PERSON!  But, perhaps we might have to settle for coffee over Skype!

Until then my friend…

Blog Positivity Week – Ma Nouvelle Mode

Have you ever met someone who is so GENUINELY friendly to you when you first meet you are just really blown away?

I want to write this little blog post to Natalia @ Ma Nouvelle Mode.

My girl Andi @ The Hollie Rogue was so sweet when I first started blogging.  She was my VERY 1st follower and when I started blogging regularly she even posted my brand new blog on facebook and encouraged friends/bloggers she knew to welcome me to this new world.

Natalia was one of the very first bloggers to welcome me and was so sweet!  When I clicked on her google profile and saw Ma Nouvelle Mode I sorta freaked out.  I mean she and Christie are what I would call “big bloggers”!  Haha!  You might laugh at me but it’s true.  Blogging is a commitment and it DOES take TIME out of your life.  I feel 100% that that time is well spent BUT it can get time consuming quickly and when you have family commitments you really need to prioritize how you are going to spend your time online.  That being said it REALLY touched me that Natalia would care to take time to encourage a “newbie” little blogger like me.

The kindness and genuine interest shown me is so appreciated.

Every little bit of encouragement does wonders to a new girl in uncharted territory.

You rock girl!!  I WILL pass on the blessing!!!

What's Blog Positivity Week you ask?  Well, click here to find out!

I am normally a "follow the directions" kind of person.  I would say at 31 I am pretty new to getting my creative juices flowing…bit of a late bloomer you could say.

Blogging is REALLY helping me broaden my horizons in this area.

I am SO IMPRESSED by these bloggy women!

YOU ALL REALLY REALLY AMAZE ME!!!

I mean SERIOUSLY!  I am INSPIRED!  THANK YOU!!!!

I wanted to take today to highlight a few of the REALLY AWESOME handmade items OR someday projects I’ve found along the way.  So without further ado:

2)  Mile Posts is one of the first blogs I ever followed.  She is an AMAZING runner, person and woman of God.  I feel like I really should know her in real life because I’ve read through her ENTIRE BLOG.

Any of you runners out there MUST read Dorothy’s blog!!

Besides, I happened to find this AWESOME crafty idea for jewelry storage on HER blog!  CHECK IT OUT!  She got the idea from her friend at www.thismamamakesstuff.com!

Blog Positivity – A hearty welcome

It’s hard being the new kid on the block most places.  It doesn’t matter how friendly you are or even if you know someone where you are going…sometimes things can be awkward or clickish or well you know…

Jobs have been this way…even church…talk about uck on that one!

True story #1:  When I was about 20 I worked in an office with a not so friendly gal.  One of those things ya know…not sure WHAT I did but she was not a fan.  I used to care a lot more about being liked than I do now so I suppose it did bother me a little bit.  I remember her staring at me when I was waiting for my supervisor on my first day.  She just stood there and looked me up and down.  It was the most awkward, strange, awful thing!!!  There were a few other stories with that chick that I won’t delve into but suffice it to say she was just not a very nice person.  Looking back it was obvious she wasn’t a happy person but that’s beside the point.

True story #2:  I was visiting a church for the first time some years ago and it was a little different than I was used to so I was already a little uncomfortable.  I set down with the people I was with and this woman came out of nowhere and asked us to move so her people could come in and sit down.  It wasn’t that she asked us to move it was that she was RUDE!!!  Like really rude!  She was obviously very comfortable there so it wasn’t HER first time.  What a way to treat a guest!  UGH!

Well I am very happily surprised at the BEYOND welcoming atmosphere this blogland has been to me so far.  It hasn’t been hard at all being the new kid on the block!  I have had so many kind women come and say hi and offer GENUINE support, encouragement and friendship.

And I hate to say this but darn it if it isn’t the truth…women can be catty!!

I’m SURE it happens here just like anywhere else but I am HAPPY to say I haven’t seen it yet.

I have only been treated to the heartiest welcome and that is pretty AWESOME!

How’s that for positivity?!?!
