Copy Cat Closet – Colored Tights

The challenge this week was “colored tights”. 

I am BORING and the choices I had on hand are black and brown.  Yeah, I know I’m a wild woman.  I chose brown because I’m pretty sure black doesn't count as a real color when it comes to tights right?  I mean everyone has black tights!  Unless they have spiderwebs on them or they are fishnets they probably don’t count.

Anyway…here’s what I put together!

Copy Cat Closet - Sweaters, Some Cuties & a Giveaway

Cozy sweaters are one of the BEST parts of cooler weather IMO.  I LOVE them!  When Natalia threw out a sweater challenge for Copy Cat Closet this week I was all about it!

My version incorporated a long thin sweater perfect for layering and loose curls in my hair.  I'm really happy with this outfit.  Excited that it'll be a do in real life.  I actually DID this in real life...2 days in a row...SHHHHHHHHH...

An Ode To the Boots

One of the best things about blogging is that there is not a BOSS to answer to.  I can do it however I want to.  Some people may disagree with me and that’s ok.  For me, this is a creative outlet.  If I want to talk about my kids for 3 days straight I will.  If I want to talk about Jesus or manly sandwiches or my attempt at fashion I’ll do that to.  AND if I want to devote a WHOLE darn post to some new boots…well by golly gee that’s what I’m going to do.  And you guessed it…today’s post is an ODE TO SOME BOOTS!

I am so happy with the early birthday present from my mother in law!  We went out shopping last Saturday and I found them at the CUTEST little shop shop in a nearby town.  I've been wanting some cowboy boots for awhile now and even though my brother thinks I've gone crazy as you can see from the below facebook dialogue…

I LOVE them!!!  I can't wait to show them to you in PERSON Clay!  Then you'll have to admit I'm cool right?!?!?!?  I love you brother!

Look at the insides!!!!  How stinkin cute!  Now…seriously!

Right now it's the all important leggings, tall boots & sweaters!  Oh and how about the classic french braid?!  Kinda like what i wore to the farm tour & pumpkin patch a few weeks back!

Hello!

I'm Lena and I blog over at Mom2MemphisAndRuby (and lena b photography), and I'm a 30-something, fashion-loving, photo-taking, thrifty & tattooed mom of 2!  I am so excited to be visiting Kelly here today... but as always I was stumped on what to post about!

I know Kelly loves fashion too... and then it dawned on me!  Why don't I copy Kelly's closet?

There's this awesome linkup called Copy Cat Closet that My Nouvelle Mode & The Grant Life co-host and even though I can't always link up myself, I'm always checking out Kelly's blog to see what she'll do with the prompt!

So....

Kelly picked out THIS outfit and sent me my very own "Kelly's Closet" prompt:

I LOVED what she had picked out, I could totally see myself wearing something like that...

But then I had to scour my closet to put something similar together...

This is what I did:

Since I didn't have a patterned skirt, I went with a textured one! I noticed the pop of yellow at her collar, so I chose a top with a yellow stripe... added the jacket and the brown boots and I was good to go!

Yeah…so this week is pretty darn FANTABULOUS on THIS here blog if I do say so myself!!!

I never did take the time to take “real” fashion photos this week since I’m at home visiting my parents in Ohio.  These shots were just randoms throughout the day.  The outfit I put together was pretty much sweatpants ya know…super soft pink tshirt, super soft white tank, super soft purple maxi skirt…yeah this mama was in her comfort ZONE today!  

Oh and I FINALLY put a scarf in my hair!!!!!  I’ve been wanting to do this for SO LONG!  My mama surprised me with a pretty purple scarf as a little treat for me and it was PERFECT for my hair!!!!!!  It even matched my outfit today perfectly!  I LOVE IT x 1,000 and I might just be wearing it EVERYDAY!  It makes me feel fancy but oh so cool at the same time.  Is that weird?  Anyway, I don’t care if it is, I LOVE it!  So here’s to you Tina!!!
